FERRETBOY 680
me and my cousin decided we will do a little ferreting this morning as we have a fortnight free from shcool and work.i set of from my house about seven thirty this morning and i met arron at his house before we set of to our local hunting grounds.we was hoping we might get a dig today so we could try the my new mrk 3 out and take a few photos with the new digi cameras .the first warren we ferreted was a six or seven holer which looked like it would hold a few bunnies as there were fresh diggins.after attaching the collars to the ferrets we dropped in my albino jill, there was not a bolt or thunping underground and after the ferret re-surfaced i dropped in the polcat jill but still nothing.we gathered the nets up and rang my dad to see if was gonna meet us and help out whilst we ferret some more warrens. these warrens always produce a rabbit or two so we decided it was a better option to ferret these.after my dad met us we ferreted a five or six holer which to our surprise also didnt produce anything.we moved onto the next warren which was a few yards from the one we had just ferreted.this was a three holer and after laying the nets i placed my polcat feret at the entrance of the hole before she slided out of sight into the darkness of the warren but once again she passed through each hole but there was still no action to be had. the next warren was another three holer and after we had laid the nets i once again put my polcat jill into the hole.after a couple minutes of waiting i could here thumping so i know there was a rabbit to be had wheather it bolted or we had to dig.after some sort of sign language we ferreters allways seem to do i signeld to my father and cousin who were standing on the opposite side of the warren that there was a rabbit at home.and in that short time a rabbit bolted close to them.i rushed over to help dispatch the rabbit but it already had been done,so i laid the net back over the hole and stood back but "jill" resurfaced once again so we moved onto another warren further into the wood. the next warren produced nothing so we started making our way back to the car.there was another warren to ferret so we slipped in the ferret and let the rabbits bolt for the bird.and so one did and was caught by the harrison the field next to the wood.it was good to be out again ferreting with my cousin and dad as my dad doesnt get the oppertunity to go out much due to work. good hunting rew Quote Link to post
