never owned a lurcher before ive had greyhounds as my old man used to race them which i would help train many years ago always been into air riffles and know a few people who have them so after reading this forum decided 6 months ago to buy one which i did of this site he his greyhound ,collie, bull ive been teaching him recall which he does well and a few other bits and pieces that have been posted on this forum and speaking to others so last night i decided to take him out on my shooting permission with my brother we go for a little walk lets him off the lead and he starts running round like a f*****g nutta  straight back on the lead gets to the first bunny my brother was 10 feet behind me with the dog clean shot just the nerves keeping it moving off the lead he goes and picks up the bunny and brings it back  next bunny is 40 yards away my bro runs over to it and the dog picks him up and leaves the rabbit by his feet giving him loads ov fuss the next one was 10 feet from cover not a clean shot and the rabbit makes for cover dog goes in and pins the rabbit to the floor rabbit squealing he jumps out the cover with rabbit in his mouth but this time does not want to give it up after a bit ov gentle persuasion he does  next one was in cover gave it a whack with a pellet and into the field it goes with dog in hot pursuit 50 yards and its through into thick bramble and its gone dog comes straight back to me and we call it a night so all in all three retrieves and a chase on the lamp not bad for his first night  i know hes still only young so wont be taking him out for a while just wanted to see what he would do and hes come up tops
