Saturdays outing

Recommended Posts

Well a tough days ferreting yesterday clearing out after a pest controller . Total of 9 healthy rabbits but the mixie were all above ground droping off now it's geting colder found a few dead and a couple died during the day , spent the whole day on hands and knees and crawling on our belly through bramble and gorse bushes down at a swanky marina no camera I'm afraid one day I will take someone to take pics . First bury produced three rabbits always nice to score on the first especially when you have company , onto a three holler which had a few flies coming in and out so didn't expect much but was happy to see one bolt , next bury was right next to the marina and the swanky waterside houses, but it looked active took some clearing but wasn't bramble so no stress there. I decided to enter a young silver jill along with my top albino girl and she saw action alright the burrow was only shalow so it was quick with two seeing me and with the thick undergrowth the nets didn't purse propally so they went below only to meet another ferret so bolted into difrent nets , took about ten miniutes if that and my little young silver well no hole messing no dancing about came back to my hand then into the box very happy bagged four,we had a spot of lunch then drew a blank , so onto the last of the day for us tryed my mates old jill and she came up after some investigation now she was on fire last season but unfortunatly the retirement home is calling after she gave up on a stop end the other week so I was a little suspicous when she apeared and no sighn of thumper , so I stuck my albino girl in just for a quick run throuhg and to confirm the other jills unfortunate retirement , and after 5 or ten mins a stuborn buck apeared in a net some size as well , so after the pestie shooting the place at night and mixie taking it's toll a clear out job on two or three acres produced 9 rabbits and never lost one so a good day out and nice to see they've started bolting again , and well done Lucy the ok'd jill you've done your time enjoy the rest of your time living it up in your nice snug hutch.
