Computer help needed

I want to connect my laptop to my mums router...........i tried, hers doesn't support wireless connection :thumbdown: (I have told her she needs to get with the times:doh: )

 

Anyway, i have a modern router with the same company, if i unplug hers and just swap her leads over, will i have to re-connect to that router, i'm pretty sure i will but i'm scared of it going tits up, my mum can be a very scary women :gunsmilie:

Oh aye, that helped.... Routers are tempermental things, what make is it? If its netgear.... good luck :tongue2:

 

 

Errrrrr, mums is a BT voyager 220, must be about 10 yrs old not to support wireless :doh:

 

Mine is a BT newish home hub thingy (as you can tell i'm not very good at all this computer lark, everything is called a thingy!!)

Should be ok to connect he BT hub . all you need is your mums email address and password to connect her to the internet by cable...which she does now. You might have to set a password up for the wireless connection so no one freeloads your connection wirelessly ..like me :tongue2: and you use that password to connect to the hub
