mangy1983 51
If your only doing it for a wee while l would personally leave as as it is usually more of a pain than it is worth to set-up, but if its a spare router/hub you have that you want to set-up make sure to switch on the router/hub that you are going to be replacing it with (ie your BT newish home hub thingy) and you should see a hole at the back of it to reset it. You can normally do this using a pencil tip an all you do is press and hold the pencil in to the hole for a few seconds until you see all the buttons flashing. This will reset the hub/router back to all of its default settings. Connect the router up-to a computer by cable (the existing cable will going to the old hub will do), open up a web browser and type 192.168.1.1 (this is the default web address for most hubs/routers before configuration but may be different for yours) Then you will be prompted for a password, this can be different for different hubs/routers but is normally: username = admin, password = admin or username left blank and the password being admin. Now you should have access to your router/hubs user interface to set it up as per your personal settings good luck Callum
