Hollie 21 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Share Posted September 28, 2010 I want to connect my laptop to my mums router...........i tried, hers doesn't support wireless connection (I have told her she needs to get with the times:doh: ) Anyway, i have a modern router with the same company, if i unplug hers and just swap her leads over, will i have to re-connect to that router, i'm pretty sure i will but i'm scared of it going tits up, my mum can be a very scary women Quote Link to post Share on other sites

If its netgear.... good luck Errrrrr, mums is a BT voyager 220, must be about 10 yrs old not to support wireless Mine is a BT newish home hub thingy (as you can tell i'm not very good at all this computer lark, everything is called a thingy!!) Guest jt750 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Share Posted September 28, 2010 Should be ok to connect he BT hub . all you need is your mums email address and password to connect her to the internet by cable...which she does now. You might have to set a password up for the wireless connection so no one freeloads your connection wirelessly ..like me and you use that password to connect to the hub Quote Link to post Share on other sites
