Terryorr 27
I live in Northern Ireland and have an F.A.C. for a couple of shotguns and a .22lr. If I book a days shooting in Scotland, England or Wales does my F.A.C. cover me legally or do I need a day permit to visit those countrys, and does F.A.C.s from these countrys cover you in Northern Ireland. I know in the south of Ireland our F.A.C.s does NOT cover us. Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Although obviously you are in the UK (just take that as read, don't want to offend!), your FAC is different to those used in England, Wales and Scotland. I have read conflicting things on both forums and other websites as to whether an N.I. FAC will cover shooting over here so my best advice would be to both contact your own firearms licensing department to seek their advice well in advance of traveling and also do the same to the department which covers the area you will be shooting in. It may be the case that all is well and you can travel without hindrance throughout the UK or there may be a need for some additional paperwork. Saying that, all the paperwork that is required for say myself to travel to anywhere in mainland Europe to shoot is a European Firearms Pass, which is fairly easy to acquire. However, as it is the same country, I can't see the need. Not too sure unfortunately, but I doubt it would be too much hassle SS. Quote Link to post
Terryorr 27
Cheers S S, I have heard it is a nightmare trying to get a pass to cross over the border into the south for a days shooting but as you say up north here we are part of the UK and I thought an F A C may cover everywhere.
