kingoftoosh 15
Awright everyone.Been shooting crows,Jackdaws and Magpies at my 1st permission for bout 6 weeks now with my air rifle..I go dressed like my avator ,build a hide with a net and have some decoys. My question is can the birds be getting used to me?The reason i ask is that they used to do things like clockwork.^ am have a fly overhead to have a look about, don't see me so land on barn roof en mass, then onto cow coral then onto ground to feed.I'm talkin lines of birds.I shot threm at these locations from all different places. But then they stopped landing on the roof then stopped laning on cowpen wall.I'm lucky to see any where before there were lots. On the one hand I'm happy cos farmer is happy,he says he has not noticed so many crows about. on the other hand I'm not getting in any shots. I have gave it a rest over the last few days and haven't been shooting ,will this tempt birds back to old habits? Its my 1st permission and i want to do a good job of what i was asked to do.For my own pride and the fact that i would like to get some more land off the farmer once he gets to know me and also that he might tell others,(he is friendly with a farmer very near to me and i could be doing with a recommendation) Atb KOT Edited September 19, 2010 by kingoftoosh Quote Link to post
activeviii 8
I think they do learn. i have been shooting them off my roof for years, but when i start taking a one a day then they stop landing on my roof and just go next door instead. i have been without an air rifle for a little while and now they have started landing on my roof again. so in answer i would say most definitely yes Phil.
