Small terriers

I have never been out with terriers but my mate has a tiny terrier which is a very game dog. Looking at the fox that Lucky on here just killed i was wondering if terriers are ever actually killed by big foxes? I could not imagine my mates terrier being able to overcome such a beast as the one in the photo.

IT CAN HAPPEN MATE. A fox can and will give a terrier a pasting if the fox is on a ledge or round abend in the earth.

Roz is right, a black lakey i had was given a going over by a fox that was sat on a tree root every time he put his muzzle over the root old reynard let him have it but the little guy held him til we dug down and despatched, but on another occasion he killed a vixen and 3 half grown cubs, wish i still had him at times.

had some fly foxes sitting on aledge dishing it out , until you get there ,dogs bit to hell ,down in the lowlands thyere mostly in amongst tre roots etc were up in the hill there a bit easier dug

i know of a couple of terriers that have died or had to be pts after taking major punishment from foxes, i suppose it all depends on the sitution below ground, but thats terrier work i guess you have to take the chance to get the reward

 

p.s the terrier in the pic i put up never killed that fox, it was a pisser of a dig (about 2 ft).
