markha 99
Me and my girlfriend are keeping the shooting going whenever possible whilst waiting for the police visit for SG license. We popped over to the Chatsworth game fair on Sunday and had a superb day in fantastic surroundings. After an early start we had a good fill of food, walked round the trade stands plenty of times and watched a few things. The simulated coursing was a good fun spectator sport, boy were some of those dogs fast! We both had a couple of sessions on the 'have a go' clays and mangaed to get a bit of coaching done as well, then later in the afternoon we had a walk round the pool shoot and watched all the pegs, There were some very hard to judge clays being thrown. Anyway, we finished up watching the 40 bird flushing pairs, brilliant fun to watch. The last but one pair were winning with 27 clays between then and then we watched another pair beat them with 28. We got chatting to them both and they kindly offered to lend us their guns and to help speed reload too We bought a box of cartridges each, set them up and waited for the count down, 3-2-1 Bang, bbbbbbang etc. I can honestly say I never saw one clay get hit, it was fast and furious, what a rush, even though I was stood still, by the time it was finished by back and chest were coated in sweat! pure adrenalin So our score, on borrowed guns, having never done this before, with the highest shot on the day being 28, We came in with 9!!! apparently I had 4 and my girl, who was in the(apparently easier;))left peg got 5. Thanks very much to the 2 guys who lent us their guns and encouraged us both to have a go. So all in all, a great game fair and some challenging clay shoots. Me and my girlfriend were really buzzing after the flushing pairs and are looking forward to the Midlang fair in a couple of weeks, I cant wait to shoot 2 man flush with her again, as so far she seems to be a very good shot. Thanks Mark Quote Link to post
