First Blood For My SX3 Composite

Hi all

 

I took my new SX3 12g out today down to my local pigeon shooting syndicate but there was absolutely nothing around.

 

I spent the first hour or so with the binoculars , trying to spot the woodies feeding , but everything was absolutely dead.

 

Anyway , i decided to set up under a nearby tree that was in the shade and see what , if anything would appear.

 

After setting up a few decoys ( pigeons and crows ) a floater and a couple of flappers i made myself comfortable and waited.

 

Nothing happened for the first hour but then , out of nowhere a feral landed near one of the floaters. As i raised the gun it took flight , but i connected with the second shot. Number 1 was in the bag.

 

Nothing else showed for about 2 hours , but then i saw a Crow coming straight at me.This was a shot that even i couldn't miss , i waited until it was about 10 yards away and fired off the first Cartridge ( A Rio super Game no 5 ) The crow just stopped in mid flight and hit the ground , Number 2 was down.

 

About an hour later another feral came towards the decoys and that too was sent to pigeon heaven.

 

As i was about to pack up for the day , a group of about 10 woodies came from behind a hedge at speed but i picked one out and hit it with the third shot. Unfortunately though it dropped in a thick wooded area and i couldn't retrieve it.

 

4 birds in about the same amount of hours , not great i know , but at least my new autoloader has drawn first blood ,
