tonights result

just got back in from being uncomfortable for the past hour being sat under a hedge row. but it wasnt so bad because chrlie was out to play.

Got to my permission about six oclock to discover that the place i was going to wait in ambush the feild behind was having the last of the wheat cut of so that f****d me right up but i had a back up luckily theres a patch of rough ground about an acre in size that has the odd patch of bramble and thorn trees which i knew two cubs were using as residence. as i was walking down to find a place to wait the first cub was in the corner and before i could get the gun up off he hopped. (gutted) but i knew the other wasnt far away so i was sat for about ten minutes and noticed him sat infront of a patch of brambles just enjoying the last of the sunshine. he was about 300 yards and too far for a comfortable shot so i army crawled about fifty yards down the hedge. I got to the end just intime to see him bolt off after a cock phesant, i gave him abit of a squeek and he came up from the bottom of a neighbouring field and stop at yards away and that was the end of that as they say. i returned to the original spot just to see if his brother/sister would be near by but not a dicky bird but theres always tomorrow night.
