Hi all,

 

Can anybody tell me how you go about changing an FAC that has been granted for target use only to one which would allow me to take foxes on a friends land?

 

I know the land will need approving, just wondering about my FAC.

Hi Mick, first you will need written confirmation that you can shoot over the land, detailing what quarry and specific calibres, for example I authorise Mick to shoot over such and such farm and to control foxes using any firearm up to the calibre of .243".

Then you need to fill in an FAC application form (referee's are not needed).

 

On the part asking what you intend to use each of your firearms for, you would enter "fox shooting on such and such farm" and send it off to the police. When your asking for an application form, it's a good idea to discuss the change of grant with the clerk. The application will be judged as a new application as your asking them to grant you a new condition.

You'll also need to get a variation to allow expanding ammunition, though any sensible police force will automatically add this for an application for use on live quarry.
