I thought the Hare shoots were just to reduce numbers/damage.

 

Never heard it was to reduce poaching, only after the ban. :hmm:

:whistling: Newmarket&South of England CC held very well attended meetings plenty of hares on the ground :thumbs: then one year there was very few hares to be seen, checking the local game dealers over 3,500 hares had been brought in shot with the landowners permission No Hares=No Poaching this was around the time the M11? was opened and it was easily accessable to the 4x4 gangs :thumbdown:

and this was by no means an isolated incident other prolific clubs suffered the same :thumbdown:
