dave1372 83
Just got back today after being stuck in North Wales for a week and on the final leg of the journey I saw the combines cutting one of the fields on one of my permissions which I hadn't been on since the crops got up. As soon as I got home I sent a text message to the farmer just to say I would start on the foxes again and he soon text me back to say he way happy with that as he has various covey of partridge on his land that he wants to see increase. So I dusted of the 22-250 and headed off as night fell. I picked my spot and simply parked right in the corner of the field hoping that if anything came along or out of the hedgelines I would be able to get a nice clear shot. Also I wanted to avoid shooting towards the hedgelines as I was aware there may be a slim possibility that there may be some late night dog walkers about on the other side of the hedgelines. After 20minutes of just settling down I tried a few calls and spotted a couple of foxes mooching about a couple of hundred yards away and they started weaving their way towards me slowly but surely . When the one closest to me was approx 100 yards out I let rip with a 55grain A-Max through its right shoulder and down it went stone dead:gunsmilie: : The other fox bolted and I never got chance to get a shot at it. Despite hanging around for another hour with intermittent calls nothing else showed except a couple of deer. Back out tomorrw night so here hoping I get another tomorrow. Quote Link to post
