Shark fishing Thursday

Going out on the big tide this Thursday to try a bit of shark fishing, bit different from rock hopping and yak fishing but i will give it a go. I'm taking the camera so hope to have a pic of a Blue or two to put up.

Not often i get out to fish in such depths, what else might you be able to target whilst out shark fishing in case it got dull ??

What boat you going on mate? Were going on 21st out of Looe. Last time I went from Meva we went congering.

I had a 26lb er and an 18lb er.

Should get into mackeral obviously but lots of pouting, pollack and ling. Good luck. Cheers, D.

We had two takes and one landed, this is my mate with his Blue.

I had a good take and hit it hard getting a good second run out of the shark but then it all went slack leaving me with nothing but my thoughts. To be honest though I dont think I would have landed it because for the time it was on it felt like being hooked up to a car going the other way.

Nice fish mate,just come back from 5 days in Perran,what a place you lucky lads. Didnt get round to doin any fishing as I spent most of my time in the dunes after the rabbits with my dog,needless to say,Im going back next weekend. Do you know of any fishing boats that leave from round that way? Tight lines,Rob.

Pleanty of rabbits around Perran to say the least!!

The closest you could get a charter around there is Newquay. Your only half an hour from the south coast though and charter boats are a pleanty over there.

I bet he's/was delicious. I like to eat shark almost as much as tuna, it's delicious.
