Will goats eat thistles as have patchs of them on my horse fields and wondered if would be worth tethering one in the middle of each patch any advice guys

they will eat virtually anything,i had half an acre that needed clearing so i left 2 goats in there for about a fortnight,jesus christ i couldnt believe it,theyd eaten everything,nettles,thistles,dock,mares tails its all gone :boogie: i should of known really,after picking em up and driving back about an hour,when i got home and opened the van door,the little feckers had eaten my jacket out the back of the van :doh::thumbs:

they are browsers and can be unpredictable about what they will eat, and are escape artists ... the fencing needs to be 10000% secure! I personally dislike tethering but to each his own

had a few goats in the past 6 pygmy nannys and a toggenburg billy, they will eat anything, had one used to eat carrier bags :blink:dont leave them with horses they will eat the mains and tails :thumbdown:
