Return from sport fishing in North Carolina

Recommended Posts

I just got back from holiday in Kill Devil Hills, we chartered the " OutRigger" a well known Billfish boat , we set out from the harbour at 5.oo am and at 7.00 we started fishing, we were after any type of Billfish ( Marlin Sailfish swordfish) and Tuna , but the reports were not good for Tuna, seemingly the water was too cold, but we drew straws and i was second up when the time came , which was quite soon, just my luck i hit in on the only Billfish of the day a Sailfish, about 60 to 70lbs , i couldn't take a photo because the 1st mate unhooked him before i could get chance to take a shot, its catch and release in the port we were from so he lived to fight another day we did hit into a shoal of Dolphin fish also known as Mahi Mahi and pulled in 19 of those, these are really good eating,, we also caught a Wahoo which is like a giant Mackerel crossed with a Tuna and a small amorra shark
