Ratting in the North West

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I want to bring on my 12mth old Border x Patterdale bitch that supposedly comes from Irish working lines to hunt rats as I've spotted a few in my garden, as I keep chickens so that was inevitable but want to let her do the security work in the garden for me and also like getting out with dogs etc.

I could do with any advice, help or even a trip out to "Show her the ropes" I've got my own transport to meet up etc..

Thanks Al.

has she ever caught/nailed anything before? i started mine of with something in a cage hidden so they have 2 sniff it out, once they find it let it get excited then open up and let the little bugger run for its life-hopefully wont get too far.aint sayin thats how it should be done but it worked for me and they are allways hunting for them now-all the best.
