What is a good dog?

What the hell was the point in this topic?

 

load of bolaks realy isnt it.

i dont think it is! someone finnaly puts abit of inteligent conversation on here and the best you can reply is with swearing. i bet your one of those folks who thinks they have a good dog because it does what its supposed to ie terrier goes to ground or lurcher catches day and night. theres alot more to a good dog than it just working.

much appreciated mate thanks for the input, im not reffering to pure breeds im refering to breeds in general.

im really not qualified to say about conformation etc.,but just from what i have read,and that's quite a bit lol,the question really is open to peoples pref,ok so we may all be able to see a badly put together dog,if its obvious,but working dog and show dog,well they are worlds apart really are they not,im not from the ,that dog looks good brigade,to me their ability to do their intended job is far more important,something iv heard that kennel club for example may want to adhere to,but as i say not qualified just throwing in my two pence worth

i dont think everyone understand what he is getting at, iv had dogs good and bad. i said it before just because a dog works doesnt make it a good dog if thats what it was ment to do! when people breed from working dogs they should think about the bigger picture. iv had dogs that where excel workers but when bred from produced inferior stock because the makeup just wasnt right. now i only breed from 100% proven dogs. and thats 100% inside and out.
