As above, there is enough rubbish about, only breed from your dog if it has proven itself over several season of work. Also why are you breeding? For a pup to bring on, for friends or profit??

:clapper::clapper::clapper: :thumbs-up:

i totaly agree with only using proven sire and dams,yes the lad was asking advice on the forum but didn't actually say he was going to breed off his bitch yet,it looked as though you were having a dig at the lad for considering breeding a litter of pups :tongue4:

You must have misinterpreted my post marco ;) It none of my business who breeds a litter, its just we see so much crap being offered when if only proven dogs were bred from the percentages of getting a worker would improve :victory: An aquantience of mine is breeding from her Springer because...............she looks cute and would make a good mum :censored: I just think some effort and thought should be put in before bringing another litter of pups into the world. Are the parents tested should be the main question and if the answer is no then it should end there IMO :signthankspin::D

when they have done something to merit breeding from them over a few seasons work?

:good:

Was out with a couple of fellas a few weeks ago and their 2 lurchers, that were young and just starting to catch.

They had a lot to learn and were still puppyish in nature.

A half mxyd rabbit bolted out of an un-netted hole and ran acroos the feild, but now too fast.

The lad ran in front of the rabbit, which ran back, the lurcher just seen it and galloped and eventually caught it.

The lad was very pleased at this and said, 'im going to breed from her when she comes in heat........ :icon_eek::blink:

HI, MY BORDER BITCH IS 17 MONTHS , HER MAM AND DAD BOTH WORKED , HER DAD HAD SCARS AND BOTH EARS MISSING AN ME MAM SAID SHE DOESNT WANT OUR BORDER TO END UP LIKE THAT . IF WE DONT WORK HER HOW MANY GENERATIONS WOULD IT TAKE FOR THE WORKING ABILITY TO GO. SHES A GOOD LOOKING DOG WITH A GREAT PEDIGREE AND FROM A LONG LINE OF WORKERS BUT I WOULDNT LET HER HAVE PUPS IF SHE HASNT WORKED HERSELF . ALSO SHES REALY TIMID WITH OTHER DOGS ,WOULD THIS MEAN SHE WOULD BE AFRAID OF A FOX . BYE JACKO
