I was out with a friend of mine the other day doing a rat job when he took out his 9mm shotgun i had never even heard of one , but after seeing it in action i thought what a smart little tool for the job , i would like to see what other people think on these guns and any storys they might have

I've got one. Never shot anything with it but have tested in on an indoor range. Much past 15 yards the pattern is huge. Very handy for rats at very close range or in buildings.

I used to have one. Part exed it for my hushpower .410! I shot a rat with it once at about 10 yards or so and the bloody thing rolled over, bounced, jumped up and legged it! Luckily one of the pellets had smashed its back right leg so it was to slow and coudnt jump so i managed to catch it and bang it with a lump of 4x2! Apart from that i think the cost of the shells takes the piss!

Think these are more normally known as garden guns. They're ok for short range vermin shooting, especially where damage to the fabric of a building needs to be minimised. I'd probably go for an air rifle for the job, just because it's cheaper per shot, but as you say, for it's limited sphere it's a useful little tool!
