Don't know if it is possible where you live but I would take the pup as often as convenient to a "kiddy farm" where one can pet and feed the sheep/goats. The sheep/goats there are used to visitors and other animals and probably are indifferent or stand ground when your pups sniffs at them. If the pup is too wild tell it off without making a fuss or distract it with a toy or whatever. If you repeat that exercise sheep will become "normal". Worked for my older bitch and seems to work for my pup.

I live on open moorland that are grazed all year round, I've 4 dogs and if any of them showed any interest I picked them up by the scruff of the neck, like there Mum would, give them a shake and say no. Never had to resort to much more, some had to have a tap but nothing more. Interesting thing is my latest pup walked out with the other dogs and never showed an interest, in fact goes out of her way to avoid them.

You'll hear crap like put them in with a ram - ignore it if you don't want your dog killed!
