Getting a new scope and I fancy one of three in the 6-20 magnification / £200 range. The three are HAWKE SIDEWINDER IR Tac 30 6.5-20x44 with the new 20x1/2 mil dot reticle, the NIKKO STERLING Targetmaster 5-20x50 IR with the LRX reticle and the MTC VIPER in the same magnification. They all have similar tactical turret adjustment with 30mm tube. I will be bench rest target shooting in .22LR at 25,50,75 and 100 yards. Any advice to sway me would be appreciated. Regards, Bob.

Leupold fixed mag 12 X 40. Over your budget but what a brilliant target 'scope. Dead simple reticle, which is what you need for fixed range shooting. Top class glass and no money wasted on variable mag which you just don't need when you can dial it in.

Pm me for more details. I am planning to put one on my UKBR22.

Hi Ric, thanks for your advice which seems sensible. I am presently useing a 4-12 variable on my match rifle and it is always left on the 12x mag but the reticle lines are simply too thick so I'm looking at other scopes. Maybe I'll go down the fixed mag route now.

Much appreciated, Bob.
