Foxgun Tom 75
If the Moderators will allow me to post this twice? in this section and in the Gamefair and event thread, as it's important that its seen by as many folk as possible In Scotland there are no restrictions on showing docked pups, or dogs of any age that are docked but!! it is unlawfull to dock pups BASC and The National Lurcher & Racing Club are holding a Lurcher and Terrier event at the BASC Game Fair at Cardross on May 8th In their advertising the NL&RC state "No terrier docked after 21st March 2007 to be shown" It's not illegal to show docked Terriers in Scotland!!! "There will be no Terrier puppy classes" Its not illegal to show Docked or undocked Terrier puppy's in Scotland!! The contact tel no's for this event is 01773 835291 or 07801454897 BASC and NL&RC are trying to impose restrictions and a code of practice that does'nt apply to Scotland, we have our own legislation in place I would ask any self respecting member of the NL&RC to consider their membership of this organisation as a mark of solidarity and support towards their fellow working dog enthusists "THE TERRIER MAN" Tom

lurchergrrl 1,441
That's ridiculous If the dog is legally docked what difference does it make? Pretty soon the only terriers allowed in the ring will be the show quality ones and what's the point in that at a gamefair? It's daft!
Foxgun Tom 75
Just had an irate lady from the NL&RC (Linda Vaughan) on the phone re: this post!! She wanted to know why I had'nt raised the issue in the last four years, I stated I raised the same issue last year!! and the advert in the CMW was not the same wording as previous years? I also informed her I had taken legal advice this morning and have a further apointment tomorrow!! the tail docking issue aside, what really pissed me off was that the NLRC were trying to and have in the past? imposed legistlation that is contradictory to Scots law in relation to the showing of certain breeds (docked terriers) No ban is in place in Scotland and the NL&RC have ignored the law of the land?? The situation is if I want to show my legally docked (in England) Sporting Lucas Terrier pup at Cardross at the show run by the NL&RC I can't yet yet!!Scottish legislation say's its legal to do so!! In my opinion? effectively as a Scot I'm being discriminated against in my own country by the NL&RC who are implementing English tail docking legislation here in Scotland? on a matter that's a devolved issue If I and other Scots terrier owners, who have legally docked dogs are informed that we are being discriminated against after taking further legal advice, (thats more than just offensive?) I told the lady from the NL&RC (Linda Vaughan) that I will take further action on the grounds of discrimination if advised?? This show is advertised in Scotland, held in Scotland and comes under some Scottish devolved matters any legal action would be under Scottish jurisdiction I also asked for a compromise!! that was declined I asked for a full apology for offence caused There is no cause or grounds to implement further tail docking legislation in Scotlad from outside the country! "We have enough of the crap"" We Scots have no right to impose our laws/rules or conditions on the rest of the UK why did the NL&RC impose conditions on Scots terrier enthusiasts for four years and why do they continue to do so?? Tom Ps: I was also told off for describing the NL&RC as "FECKIN IDIOTS!" I humbly apologise  They are in fact!! "IGNORANT, ARROGANT FECKIN IDIOTS": :wankerzo4: or has anyone a better term to describe them?? Edited April 26, 2010 by Foxgun Tom
