bobcullen79 1,495
This might sound silly, but fish where you know there are big fish, theres no point fishing your local if they only go 16.8. Find the fish before you make camp, this will double your chances instantly. Try and find an under water feature or a good margin spot and go for a boilie only approach with a good quality boilie. Also adjustable zig rigs are working for me at the moment with a size 10 and a bit of yellow foam. Hope this helps,Tightlines. Rob. Quote Link to post
spud gun 16
As rob said, find a venue where there are bigger fish in there. if your just aiming to up your personal best, go to a runs water there are loads scattered around the uk with a good head of fish to decent sizes. also spend alot of time watching the water for fish showing, as the bigger ones tend to head and shoulder. also look around in margin spots or channels where you may be able to spot the fish near the surface so you can target them. most of the bigger carp are more spooked easy and harder to catch, so try changing your rigs and things about, like criticality balance your baits? rig putty to pin it down the the lake bed, use different colour braid or try using fluorocarbon. another thing you could do it just try casting out single hook baits with pva bag with a few free offerings. try upping the size of your baits as this could stop the smaller fish picking them up first. hope this helps all the best spud gun Quote Link to post
WILF 51,477
Fish waters that hold fish of the size you want to catch and remember, size and merit are not the same thing Quote Link to post
