Well this morning i had the letter through from the met saying that my application for the rimfire has been declined :( in accordance with section 27 of the firearms act . The decision has been made purely because of my lack of experience of section 1 firearms. It also goes on to say that if i am able to obtain the assistance of an experienced shooter who is prepared to accompany me and after a time vouch for my competence then the situation will be looked at diffferently. At present they are not satisfied that a certificate can be issued to me without danger to myself, the public safety or the peace, :censored: tossers

:censored: Absolute bollocks. :censored: If they are prepared to grant the ticket, providing you have a mentor, they are saying you ARE fit for a firearm. If your land has passed, you have no serious criminal record, and you have the appropriate security, they CANNOT refuse it. Take them to court.

This mentoring buisness is creeping in, in all areas, none of it is legal, its law made on the hoof, and because people are complying with it, we are making a rod for our own backs.I hope you are a member of one of the organisations, if so, get their legal team straight on it, i guarantee, all you will need will be the threat of legal action.

this is crap mate, if you have good reason, and land to use it on they cant refuse, basc straight away. or phone the firearms department and tell them, you are seeking legal advise.

what ever you do, do not leave it at that. the reason they get away with it is because we let em. fight it. you will win.

i've had the shottie cert for almost 2 years already, didn't make any differance :( i've had cameras fitted front & back of house, the land is already cleared as people are taking fox & deer on it, they have written permission from the owner. I've taken advice legally and the appeal has to go in front of a crown court and the judges decision is final which could be costly what with barristers fees etc or i could represent myself but i think that would be a waste of time. I have no criminal record and am S.I.A registered. Basically it's a load of old ******ks
