jigsaw 11,902
As you may know I shoot a lot of goats and before I get a mate to make a weight bareing support to hang the carcasses from has anyone got any ideas how I might make this object.Im going to bolt it on the side of a shed 8 feet high.I need A steel support to hang the bodys from.I have bought a wratchet winch and 1 ton pulley system and need something strong enough to hold very heavy animals. My elbows are fecked from draging and lifting these buggers. This would make life much easier as I am shooting the goats on an ongoing basis.I have had about 50 down this season and still not making any headway into them, here is something like what I want but it must come much further from the wall so I can walk around it.The photo is of a deer my mate got me for eating and from this you can visualise(maybe)what Im looking for and from previous outings this is what Id need them for.If anyone has a system that might be ideal for what I want before I go ahead and get this going I would be very gratefull. just imagine trying to lift these up on to the bar manually, back breaking to say the least
whin 463
your to far away but some good box section bolted and welded to wall and block and tackle would lift them up or a little hydraulic winch made up of an old generator, we use simliar for lifting creels hydraulic pulley save alot of work

clint 45
Here is netto shop, i buy elecric 240volt electric winch,(was £30) this i fasten to roof beam in barn, with chain. Plug in wall , use stippop in back leg of animal & lift. No work ! Just take bowl out of animal, pull skin off, when warm. I do many sheep, cow, deer, goat easy now. No lift by arm. If also attach to floor 'eye' bolt, can lower animal on winch, attach back leg skin & lift up. Skin pull off easy.
jigsaw 11,902
thanks clint,i got the most of it but where is the netto shop?I would be interested in a hoist like this for such small money.I will try to get the beam as strong as possible and that would take the heaviest of animals.
