RaiderBoy 19
Llwydcoed res yourself Nant moel is it? i used to fish the lower one alot but it was restricted to worm, fished it non stop every summer or winter cant really remember for about 4 years then it was rumoured that they stopped stocking it so i lost intrest moved onto carp fishing. i think my biggest one out of any of those lakes was about 3 lb not big i know but i was only about 12 at the time. but i still enjoy catching little brown trout from the river aman in cwmaman. whats it like up there now? is it still the basic three lakes that aberdare angling club stock or have they moved on? aaronpigeonplucker 32
there supposed to make they fish agressive so they lash out at it becasue its a small sparkly thing that moves. i suppose a silver booby could be mistaken for fish fry and i suppose a blob could be mistaken for a ball of daphnia. jazz_11 5
alright fellas this is my first post in this section and this topic caught my eye.. i work in a fishing tackle centre and my main hobby is fly fishing boobies on the bottom have become increasingly popular especially among competition anglers, although i have fished with a few older internationals and they frown upon this in some cases.. the boobie doesnt represent anything specific but when fished along the bottom with usually a high density tip the fish grab it purely out of frustration which is why takes are usually very aggressive and hard... the same is done when fishing on the boat in the larger waters where anglers fish with something like a DI7 line with a boobie and let it go all the way down and then retrieve it up fast, the fly is coming up from straight under the boat almost in effect jigging. this is usually done when times are hard and the fish arent biting well.. cheers Quote Link to post

8shot 192
some fisheries wont allow you to fish with boobies and to be honest i cant bring myself to use them either damsels and montanas for me Quote Link to post
