scorpion156 10
hello i am new to dog training. I am currentley trying to train my 11 month old ESS bitch she is comming on well but i think when she was young i over treated her now after the retreeve she drops the dummy on my feet ans sits for a treat. I would like her to sit and hold the dummy entill i take it from her. How do i go about training her for this? any tips or ways hat worked for you are most welcome. Many thanks Tom Quote Link to post
buggsbunny 4
if it was me every time she comes back and drop the dummy just pick the dummy up put it back in her mouth telling her to hold! dont do another retreive until she sitting in front of you holding the dummy. hope you can make some sense of that by the way no more treats for retreiving as you have found out it just makes then spit the dummy out! My dog has just turned 1 year old at the minute i am trying to steady him to rabbits because he will work round my feel great as soon as a rabbit comes up he is gone half a field away after it ha just keep asking people every ones point of view on training dogs is different but one will always work for you. :-) Quote Link to post
