Guest millgaz
Hi Folks, i've been lurking for a couple of weeks now i thought it's time to introduce myself i live in shropshire and have been ferreting for a couple of years now i have five ferrets 2 poley hobs 1 poley jill and two albino jills with black eyes. just thought i should tell you all what happened last week. was woken at six in the morning by a txt message on the mobile it was my neighbour, it said there are 2 ferrets on the green outside the house. Jumped out of bed chucked some clothes, grabbed a torch, and ran out the front door, no ferts to be seen . Went round the back looked in the run all five of the little buggers had gone. Then the panic set in. went in the back door to find a albino jill in the kitchen . She got in through the gap on the waste pipe. I put her in the ferreting box and went lookin. The dog next door seemed interested in somthing at the top of there garden so i jumped over and there was the little poley hob behind some ply wood , phew. Then the dog was sniffing around the shed by the wood pile. I got hold of the key and there was another albino jill , put them in the box, went to go in the house and almost shut my poley jill in the door. I put her safe and the only one missing now was my favourite big hob, i honestly thought he was long gone. Just then the another elderly neighbour appeared and said have you lost a ferret yes i said it's under my shed he almost give me a heart attack he replied. Now bear in mind he lives 9 houses down the row from me. So off i went to find him. as soon as i got near the shed i knew he was around i could smell him. i tapped on the side of the shed this is a sound he's used to at feed time or when im getting them out for a days work he poked his nose out and came [bANNED TEXT] to hand i could'nt believe my luck. After a look around the run i could'nt see where they got out, so thought someone must have let them out. I put them back in the run and within a couple of seconds they showed me. The run is next to a 16ft box body off a lorry thats sunk in the ground (it's more secure than a wooden one) they had dug down under the sleeping box were i could'nt see and come out a hole at the front of the shed the little swines . Not wishing for a repeat i've put the run inside the shed and fixed it to the floor they'll need to be good to escape now, and they stay alot cleaner too. I was very lucky. Gary M.......
