matt32 44
start of by getting the dog out in the field when its old enough 100 or 11 mth maybe older in some cases walk it on ground you intend to lamp in the daytime so its fammiliar and you are too with the land then wait for a dark windy cloudy night take youre pup out and let him see rabbits running in the beam try abnd find a squatter and slip youre dog on it most dogs with 50% or more sighthound are supposedly easy to start on the lamp ,i have only had experience with my bullx 1/3bull 2/3grey and he started on the lamp straight away no problem there is a link on here somewhere called starting a pup on the lamp try a search atb good hunting matt ps recall must be spot on and retrieving stock braeking as well dog must be trained in the yard before you take it in the field Edited March 23, 2010 by matt32 Quote Link to post
