zastava rifles

Recommended Posts

hi all , anyone out there use, or know anything about the Zastava rifle .223. I know they are made in Serbia but cant seem to find any info regarding accuracy , reliability, value for money :icon_redface: unfortunately im on a very tight budget at the moment ( due to reduced working hours & pay :wallbash: ) seen one of these advertised on a site as, nearly new and at a good price .

Any info please.

Hello From N.Z.

Love those mini mausers.Have an article from U.S.A 1986?Was a 223 and shot groups of just over 1/2" total.I have used one since 1990 in 7.62x39.I pull mil.ammo and seat S.P proj.Shots 1 1/4" groups with this stuff no drama.Wood stock did split around recoil lug as rectangular recess was rounded in corners to introduce inletting tool.Subsequently glass bedded action no problem.A friend also owns one and is very happy.I wanted a short light rifle for our mountains over here as very rugged and I walk 16 hours some days. Also in thick cover you can tuck in on hip when making way thru'By thick cover I mean visability of 2 feet.A compact variable would be good for your shooting.I have 4x32 wide angle compact only 10 " long and balances perfectly and good scope for our hunting.I see many nice light rifles these days but none equal to Zastava. Also a tendency these days for people to put huge scopes on light rifles upsetting balance terribly.A friend took my rifle on Deerstalkers trip and all members were highly impressed with rifle and how it balanced.Over here we can lend to another licence holder no problems.Only problem I had was getting it back.(Laugh)My mate got 3 Sika deer in 4 trips.Best wishes and enjoy your rifle, Toni.
