DUCKWING 302
WELL LADS , IVE ENJOYED READING YOUR THOUGHTS / EXPERIENCES WITH SOME OF THE LESSER SEEN WOODS , THAT GUN STOCK BALDIE LOOKS VERY MUCH LIKE A WOOD THE YANKS REFERE TO AS TIGER MAPLE .. ME AND THE STALLION HAVE A COUPLE OF MATES THAT ARE WELL INTO WOOD TURNING , THEY HAVE USED JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF ..... FROM PURPLEHEART TO BOG OAK AT THE MOMENT THEY HAVE GOT HOLD OF QUITE A FEW OLD BOWLING BALLS .... WHICH OF COURSE ARE MADE FROM LIGUM VITAE , THEY ARE MAKING ALLSORTS OUT OF THEM ..... MADE SOME REAL NICE CARVERS MALLETS ONE OF THE LADS GAVE ME A LUMP OF BLACK PALM ...... LOOKS REAL NICE , THINKING THAT IT WOULD LOOK NICE AS SCALES ON A STAINLESS STEEL BLADE , OR AS A HIDDEN TANG ON A SCANDI ONEREDTRIM , JOHN HARRISON ..... NOW YER TALKING , YEARS AGO I READ A BOOK ABOUT HIM AND REALLY ENJOYED IT , A TRUE ENGINEERING MASTER , THEY MADE A MINI SERIES ON HIS TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS ........WELL WORTH A WATCH ALL THE BEST DUCKWING
Guest baldie
Unfortunatly, the marlin is not one of mine, though a blank from the guy should finish the same. The knife with the cocobolo handle has hardly ever been outdoors, oneredtrim.
