I think ALL fieldsports need to stick together.

 

If they ban one, then they will soon ban more.

 

I am a carp fisherman, and shoot with air rifle, and hunt with dogs.

 

I hate it when i here people from one group slating another.

 

If you lads are slating carp fishing, then you are only helping antis ban it, and if they ban carp fishing, what chance have lads hunting quarry with dogs/air rifles/hawks or whatever it is got?

 

 

EXACTLY the point gareth, we should ALL stick together, but i dont see the vast majority of fishermen doing that.

 

i would jus like to point out , that i used to fish, and even from time to time now, i will go for a few trout in the summer.

 

The problem is that fishermen don't stick together with other fishermen, dog men with other dog men, etc, let alone all stick together as one organisation. All the forms of hunting/fishing are fractured with no common goals. Most individuals are only concerned with what they do, and in a perfect world that's all they should be concerned with because what an individual does in their spare time is of no concern to anybody else.

 

It's a shame though, because all of our opponents are united in what they stand for, be it anti fishing, anti hunting with dogs or anti shooting. I reckon in years to come people will look back and wish they'd all put more effort into uniting in opposition to the constant erosion of our chosen ways of life.

Talking of sticking together perhaps we should start a religion something to do with living off the land only eating what we pursue ourselves - don't you only need something like 10,000 signatures before a so called "religious" group can be recognised by parliment. Get out of that one in court....
