hi all

i have just got myself a sako .17 rem centerfire

just wondered if anyone has used one and what moderator they use on it.

i was hoping to use the T8 off my .243 but the .17 barrel is very heavy and is way to thick to fit up the bore of the T8.

what do you recomend

The fattest barrel on a factory sako, is the varmint, buddy, which is what i have, and it goes up a t8.Has yours been re-barrelled at some point? i assume you know there is a little plastic bush in the back of the t8?

Hi ive had a .17 rem for nearly two years an have shot over a hundred foxes and alot of long range bunnys, they are great but they run out of steam after about 200 yards on a body shot.

hornady have just started doing a 25 grain v max which will help and there is a 25 grain hollow point, i have a rem 700 bdl with a thin barrel and a t4 does the trick.......... eddie

I think the site is

www.jacksonrifles.co.uk

These moderators are muzzle mounted, and made from stainless steel, they come in a wide variety of thread sizes, so you could match it to your fat barrel.I have tested one of these on a 223, and my 204, and they were just as quiet as my pes,s and t8.They feel heavy in your hand, but not when on the gun, but they also heat up a little quicker, than a reflex, due to them being shorter.I,m gonna have one shortly, i really rate them. There are two liks on the site, one is for the br tuote [t8] the other is for the ase utra, this is the one you want.
