zachrussell 1
I recently got a second hand Mk1 reciever and a Mk1 collar both 15ft, the reciever works fine cos iv'e picked up other things before but got the collar today and when i put the reciever right up to 15ft it can only pick up collar from 1ft away. Ive put new batteries in both the collar and the reciever but it can only pick the collar up from 1ft on on max. Ruined my first day of ferreting with my ferrets. dont worry i didnt go ferreting and found out it didnt work just tested it before. Can someone please give me some soultions and ways of sorting out. longnetter 32
Well done for testing your kit before using it on a ferret mate You say you're sure the reciever is OK does that mean you've got a second collar somewhere to test it? If that's the case obviously it's the first collar that's gone for a . Quote Link to post
zachrussell 1
I havent tested the receiver with a different collar but it pick something up and didnt stop beaping and the closest thing to me was a TV 12 ft away. I just gave the collar a shake and now the receiver will pick it up from 2ft away??! Edited February 19, 2010 by zachrussell Quote Link to post

Zach, do you know anyone locally to you who has a collar that you can test your box on? Does sound as if the collar is up the spout. Just make sure the connections where the battery goes are clean. Hope you get sorted... Quote Link to post

zachrussell 1
I think its not a ferret collar its a terrier collar at 15ft does this still work with the Mk1 ferret finder? Quote Link to post
