Countrykid 1
Davy: What gun do you recommend I get? I think it's time I look into specific models not just the makers Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
Davy: What gun do you recommend I get? I think it's time I look into specific models not just the makers hi callum its all down to budget buddy I'm afraid,my advise would be get a springer rifle first learn how to shoot a recoiling air rifle first which you could pick up for about £100/£150 scope n all. then you need to decide if you want to stick with springer's as many do! or go for a PCP ( Pre-Charged Pneumatic Rifle ) then your budget can go from £300 to £1200 if money is no object,as you will need a pump or a divers bottle to fill it ( the rifle that is ) but you will need insurance! to if you are going to do use it on some ones land, most peeps wont even think about it,if you haven't got it as it shows responsible shooting if you can get to a shop who will let you try before you buy then thats defo worth it,as the rifle has to fit you.and if you don't feel right shooting it then don't buy it,its all down to personal preference and budget I'm afraid. but don't be shy to ask others there opinions as there are many lads on here who use budget rifles & mid range priced rifles with good results. me included its not to say if you spend £900 on a rifle then it will do everything you require, as one a quarter the price will do the same ,just technique and experience will make you a better shooter! regards davy Quote Link to post
Countrykid 1
Thanks! I have permission and I don't really like the springer because it's too noisy and I'm not too good from shooting just normally with no rest and apparently if you rest it on 2 different surfaces it loses zero. I have a crappy SMK springer thats like 5 ft/lbs and a 4x32 scope and I can't find other decent ones Any ideas but if I practice i'm sure i'll get better etc; And do you know what I could rest it on? Many thanks Davy! Callum. Quote Link to post
Countrykid 1
And another question: When you shoot a squirrel do you release the urine as you would with a rabbit or not? Thanks Callum Quote Link to post

Many thanks Davy! Callum. if you practice your groups will get better, you need to do some paper punching.so get your self a cushion or small beanbag, your arm, rucksack, but never a bi-pod because of the recoil if you need some A4 size targets to print of let me know,i have some designed my self and very useful when grouping And another question: When you shoot a squirrel do you release the urine as you would with a rabbit or not? Thanks Callum if I'm selling it on yes! if I'm eating it myself yes! regards davy Quote Link to post
Countrykid 1
Ok thanks!Just checked out your youtube videos they are very good! I didn't realise how much movement the scope would make when shooting (not saying your bad) But maybe I won't be as bad as I think. It's not all static like on the games What do you think of the BSA Lightning? I saw it on BAR for i think it was 214 pounds and I might be able to find one for about a hundred if i'm lucky Quote Link to post
