hily 380
bought 5 accu-feeders(the spinner and motor only) last year for our shoot fixed them to large hoppers and set them up for test and seem to work ok now when on the shoot 3 out of the 5 dummped the feed over one week so as we had no time to fanny on with them we disconnected the batterys and left them alone until the end of the season as we are going to collect them this week end we have rememberd the problem so it dosn't seem to be the timer as we had already tested them we are scatching our heads to work out whats gone wrong with them one lad thinks it could be the wind spinning the disc or the corn was poor this year and to small but if so why didn't all of them drop the corn So has anyone had this problem and if so did you fix it or does anyone have any ideas as to what the cause is thanks PS if lots of people have had the same trouble then i will get onto our supplier and give them some stick.atb. I have a feeder for a flight pond. You have to have it high enough so nothing can get at the spinner. The only problem occurs when some stalks etc debris clog the outlet so I riddle the feed. malantone 1
We had a similar problem, we had mixed wild bird seed in with the wheat, the two bags of food were on the ground in 36hrs, we sat in and watched for a couple of hours, the culprits where chaffinch and great tits they would sit on the spinner and peck at the grain, making it run like a tap. the fix was a simple wire gaurd. good luck with it.
