ferreting today

went out today got to farm about 9ish got the dogs out we were only allowed to do 1 hedge on the first field so got on with it ran 1 in straight away dogs marked so we put them on the leads.so we netted the bury of about 7 holes it took a while but 1 eventually bolted so one in the bag.went over the road to another field got to a bury on the bottom of the field terrier and the pups marked so back on leads netted about 10 holes put one of my silver jills in within no time we had bolted 2 rabbits done another just up the hedge and bolted 1.carried on around the hedge dogs marking and digging like hell but before we could get the nets on 2 rabbits bolted and were gone .never mind carried on.so we went into a load of bramble dogs put one up he ran down the field with dogs in chase and ran to ground my buddy ran down put a net on one of the 2 holes the dogs was digging on the one hole and the rabbit bolted into the net it was a straight through hole of about 4 foot so we had that one. last part of the field they rose one in some fern and bramble but he went straight to ground so ferret in and out with the rabbit ended with 6 and took some pics of the pups and their mother hell of a good marking bitch. ps 2 had young in them but the one looked like they were not far off being born.
