beggsybluestaff 1
how will they know who has an airgun and will you only be allowed to use it at a gun club Quote Link to post
air gunner 0
It's rediculouse. If they ban air rifles then iresponsible owners won't bat an eyelid that's what makes them iresponsible not only that but more iresponsible people will want them and use them for idiotic reasons because they are illegal and easily accesable seeing as people have old ones tucked away. pest hunter 151 15
i know its stupid but there realy thinking about banning them Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
as far as im concerned it would be better to introduce a licensing sytem.........like a relaxed FAC then they know who has an air rifle, and its model type etc.......anyone without a licence is upto no good !!!! surely thats better than a ban ??? SportingShooter 0
Totally agree with you Sean. As I've always stated, self regulation is the only way Airgunning will survive. If we don't opt to do so, then the Government will do it and over react, look at the knee jerk reactions to Hungerford and Dunblane? A licensing system, more relaxed than an FAC would benefit Airgunners, as when you have been checked and are found to be entrusted with these tools, then I feel there will be less restriction on the power of airguns to those who hold a license. SEAN3513 7
it seems to work ok in ireland Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
If a licence gets rid of the idiots, then it would be the way forward, or a ban is on the cards, fact. Quote Link to post
zak-s410 0
i agree ith the relaxed licence lads, it is probably the only way forward if you dont have anything to hide then it shoulnt be a problem. Zak Edited January 30, 2010 by zak-s410 Quote Link to post
