Squirrel_Basher 17,102
Martin came up for a shine around one of my sheep farms last night .Lambing is near and the farmer is anxious to minimise fox predation so we will concentrate our lamping here for a while until the next farmer shouts .Did all the lower ground seeing only a lone roe doe and disturbing a huge flight of geese on the flood waters . Made our way to the farm and spotted a fox on the neighbours ground .A sqeak with of the calls i brought back from America had him bouncing in big time.He came to the wire fence and decided to run down it a bit before coming through and standing perfect broadside for Martin to kill at roughly 60 yards i'd say. A god dog fox but no monster weighing in at 16lb 7oz.Over the road then and Martin tried the new U caller of his .A fox appeared straight away to the vixen scream but was very cautious ,finally providing a shot which Martin missed .It happens but like i said to him "not on my watch" . Another came the same route but the lamp turned off before we got a shot .Not the best of nights but another accounted for . Edited January 19, 2010 by foxdropper Quote Link to post
