I think my ferrets coming into season

Recommended Posts

Hi all, just been out for the daily shit removal and exercise for my ferrets and my polecat jill is acting a bit wierdly, going mental when i opened the cage and pushing my albino jill around abit, eating a bit more than usual and drinking more although i think shes drinking more and eating more due to a change in diet (changed from james welbeloved ferret food to a differnt ferret food mixed with cat biscuits. also i have been feeding more meat than before so i think thats why shes eating more)

im not sure if shes in season or not as her vulva isnt swollen yet but shes been acting a bit diff and shes 7 months so she should be sexually mature by now.

what should i do?

Should i just wait another few days and keep an eye on her or should i take her to the vets? my mates a vet so he can have a look if i need him to

just keep an eye on her pal. sounds like she is the bossy one over food

i will keep an eye on her but she has always been the one to eat less. the albino is smaller than her and she (the albino) has always eaten loads compared to the polecat.

but strangely enough the polecat has never layed up whereas the albino normally just runs straight through a bury while the polecat works it but if she gets the chance she will lay up.

I normally watch them when i feed them and they both go to the bowl at the same time but the polecat eats it over the bowl or near the bowl and the albino takes it into the nest area.

if i feed a carcass i put it in the nest area and they both eat pretty much the same amount.
