jsnow 0
Hi all, Bit of a random request but I wondered if anyone could help me out. I work for a small independent television production company who specialise in wildlife documentaries. We are currently producing a series for BBC 2 on the wildlife of Wales. We are keen to show Wales at its best and capture some of its iconic species on film. One species we are eager to film are Polecats, but coming across them is pretty tricky! I wondered if anyone had seen one in Wales-prehaps a pair/family is living on your farm or on somebody else's property? It would be fantastic if someone had seen reqular sightings of a polecat or could suggest a hotspot we could check out. Please drop me an email sally.snow@adenproductions.com if you have any suggestions. Thanks for your help and Happy New Year! Sally Snow Researcher

They rarely have fixed patterns to their movements, so reliably capturing one on film would be tricky. A chance encounter would be more likely in well rabbited areas, near rough ground, hill ground, woodland etc. Perhaps using night vision would help, as they are mainly noctournal. Im not in wales, but I know a couple of farms near me that have been frequented by them recently, searching for rats among the bales, so perhaps you may get lucky in this harsh weather?
