dogger 100
when a pair of foxes are bolted using a terrier how long do you recon it takes for them to move back in or a different pair of foxes to take over the den? Edited January 11, 2010 by dogger Quote Link to post
FightTheBan 1,147
It all depends i think on how many foxes there are in the area. I rattled a hole on wednesday, fresh scent but nothing in it, then had a dog and vixen out it on saturday. Ive also had the same fox bolt out an earth 3 weeks in a row out an unnetted hole, so they definately come back and re use them. I think if the earth has been dug, allow a couple of weeks, if it hasn been dug, a week should be sufficient. Its just your luck. FTB Quote Link to post
waidmann 105
i think it depends on the earth( ground type, well run etc) and whats gone on.if a fox has put up alot of resistance there will be more scent(fox man and dog). the density of available earths, pipes, straw stacks(secure slips for the fox) will certainly play a role. i have always tried to leave them for at least one week between, although i have worked mostly man made earths( 1000 hectar and 15 sets) and only the smaller badger sets(5-10 tubes). atb Quote Link to post
