earth&hounds 94 Posted January 3, 2010 Report Share Posted January 3, 2010 im just starting a lucas terrier off with the ferrets and he as took to it like a duck to water he is 6 months old and as been around ferrets from 8 weeks today was his 2nd time out and knows once the ferrets go down something is gonna happen iv had parson russell and found them to be more intrested in trying to get in and get the rabbits out them selfs and took some breaking to ferrets you would not go far wrong with a collie whippet or beddy collie whippet good look with what ever you go for yis earthy Quote Link to post Share on other sites

farmerkev09 104 Posted February 10, 2010 Report Share Posted February 10, 2010 for a small dog for ferreting i would say get a whippet i had one when i stared and still have 1 to this day (not the same one like lol) but ye very handy for them holes that you cant get to and boy it is fun when its your first running dog. and it gets it frist rabbit it used to give me goose bumps good luck hunting mate Quote Link to post Share on other sites
