my wire haired russell needs the fluffy hair taken out of his coat, he looks like a hobo dog, what is the best way of doing it, pulling it out, or a rough comb, cant see him enjoying either option.

is it the under coat? then i would leave it untill spring and help him moult by combing/brushing. generally stripping is better( taking small tufts and pulling them out). make sure he is getting a good diet and it should be ok.

if its real bad and worrying you then find someone who knows terrier near you,failing that a dog salon( will probably cost abit though).
