Coyotehunter 689
Not quite , although thats what it might seem like, In Canada they were very smart about hunting, they licensed it , so everyone that wants to hunt goes on a hunters course to learn about( its not a bad thing when you think or some of the idiots that are running around with firearms and dogs ), Wildlife, hunting , safety procedures, etc, you then get issued with what is known as an outdoors card ( looks like a credit card), so for example if you want to hunt coon you go to the post office of hunting shop or even somewhere like Walmart (ASDA) buy the license ( which generally isn't much) it has a sticker on it, you put the little sticker on the back of your card and your good to go, The MNR (Ministry of Natural Resources) they're like a game Warden can stop you at any time to check you have the right license, and if there is one you haven't exceeded your bag limit. The good thing about this is.......... because it generates so much revenue the government will not ban hunting , something that i think should have be proposed by the CA back home years ago so its not quite a walk in the park , but it has kept hunting somewhat safe over here Edited January 10, 2010 by Coyotehunter Quote Link to post

Hasting, no i don't run my terriers on coyotes, the coyotes up here can easily top the 50lb mark, a good coyote would devour any terrier no matter how hard it was Quote Link to post

Not sure by quoting my reply that you think a lurcher is a terrier? It is not. It is a sighthound bred with another type (collie, terrier, etc.) so they can be quite large dogs. There is a whole section on this site devoted to them (with lots of great pictures ) Quote Link to post

Stand down friend That's why I worded my post the way I did so you wouldn't get your panties in a knot but I guess that was a waste of time (have another read of it). To measure our terriers and lurchers would be impossible because I don't have any terriers and lurchers. I'm on this site to learn about this whole game as it's not very common at all in our land (as you know). However, I would love to see these dogs work some day if someone had some proper dogs and knew what they were doing. Where are you in Canada? Quote Link to post
