Chickens4ever05 22
well new years eve i had a short tripout with Blackwhippet, the snow had prettymuch gone near us and we had a sunny dry forcast, so Nigel very kindly invited me on his permission in the dales, up there was a differtent story with snow up to our wastes at some points. It was a great laugh today nigel, and the dogs did well, was chuffed to bits with Tod as hes not been out for nearly a month other than ratting, he was really kean and filled the bag, dispite the hard conditions, was funny when harry was up to his waste in snow as we all were at some point in the morning. one of Tods catches today was great, we seen a rabbits a good 500-600 yards away and Tod set off, as he was getting closer the rabbit stopped, at which point we thought it had goine to ground Tod ran straight past and another got up infront, as he past theoriginal it set off backaway from Tod and he closed the gap on the other, as he struck the rabbit turned and headed back in the other direction where Tod picked it up in fine style, he then carried the rabbit all the way back in thick snow, and was tired out. heres two pic of that retrieve heres the few more I took. gypsy deep in snow Harry looking like a snow man a few more of Tods catches and another EOD shot with 8 in the bag cheers for the morning out had a good couple of hours Tom Quote Link to post

Chickens4ever05 22
well done mate, great pics, Hows Tod bred? how do you find the smooth coats handle the cold waiting around ferreting? Atb LD13 never had an issue with the cold my whippets, these ones dont shiver lol, i thnk its due to them always being out side as they go to work with my mrs most days in all weather so i guess they just toughen up. Tods non kc registered so not 100% when i bought him the bitch was no kc whippet bitch 19"tts working dog and was black, she was mainly laguna with sooty sam, the dog was a brindle and white and kc registed not sure on his lines but he was 22"tts and mainly show stuff.
