Snow tracks

Recommended Posts

I was out earlier this afternoon on the highest piece of land in Surrey, would have been there longer but the owner put his 4x4 in one of the neighbours front gardens going down the steep frozen access lane at 17.00 yesterday, so I left well before then today as the temperature was plummeting!

Anyway, it was a large Private Estate and pretty much virgin snow everywhere from about 50-100yards away from the main house.

It was great to see so many tracks, the deer were all over the place, pheasant looked interesting as they started and stopped where they landed and took off, fox sniffing around, areas of bunny and the badger! Plus, I have to say, some tracks I was not sure about!

I knew most of the routes the wildlife takes in and out of woodlands and copses and the neighbouring land, but great to see so much action and everything confirmed that I knew historically!! Fascinating to also see deer and fox tracks leading to and around the water troughs which happened to be frozen solid!

Only actually saw one Pheasant in the couple of hours I was there but there is lots about for next time!
